Potato Noodle Roll
Description
Pennsylvania Dutch - Family favorite. This is a very old recipe that was my grandmothers.
Ingredients
- 1 cup mashed potatoes
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 Tablespoon fat melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups flour plus or minus
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
Methods/steps
- Add egg, melted fat and salt to mashed potatoes.
- Sift flour with baking powder;add alternately with milk.
- Combine all ingredients and knead dough on a floured board for a few minutes.
- Pinch off pieces of dough the size of a small egg and roll each piece in your hand until it is the thickness of your largest finger.
- Fry in deep fat.
