Chocolate Chip Rum Cake
Description
Chocolate Chip Rum Cake is a family favorite.
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup rum
- 1 Tablespoon vinegar
- 1 - 7 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cups nuts, chopped
Methods/steps
- Cream brown sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, blending well.
- Sift flour and baking powder together. Combine rum and vinegar in a small bowl.
- Add flour mixture and rum mixture alternately to sugar, butter and egg mixture. Beat until well blended.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Pour into greased 10 inch tube pan or a 12-cup bundt pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
- Sift confectioners sugar on cake when removed from pan.
